Coaching Staff
Phil Pincince
This is Coach Phil Pincince’s fourth year at Mount Saint Charles as the girls varsity head coach. In his first year as head coach he helped lead the Mounties to the Division 2 State Title in 2018, the first in school history. Previous to his time at Mount Saint Charles he coached the Brown’s women’s team for 39 years, amassing a record of 324-254-55 with 12 Ivy League Division 1 championships. He is the top-20 winningest NCAA Division 1 women’s coaches and the longest tenured. He stepped down after the 2015 season to become coach emeritus and assistant to Brown’s athletic director.
In addition to coaching, Pincince served two NCAA soccer committees and chaired the National Women’s Soccer All-America Committee. He won the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Women’s National Coach of the Year Award and is a member of the Rhode Island Athletic and New England Soccer halls of fame.
Pincince has previous connections to Mount. His wife, Janet, taught there for 30 years and his daughter and son, Stephanie and Brian, are both Mount graduates who went through the athletic program.
